Document formats for e-invoicing

Overview of e-invoice formats and standards: BIS Billing, NLCIUS, XRechnung, Factur-X and more

E-invoicing revolves around structured data in a standardised format. Europe uses the EN 16931 norm as its foundation, but each country has its own profile (CIUS) tailored to local requirements. Which format you need depends on who you invoice and in which country.

Your format: BIS Billing V3

Peppol BIS Billing V3 is the pan-European e-invoice standard for exchanging invoices via the Peppol network. Based on UBL 2.1 and the European norm EN 16931, it works across all EU member states and is the recommended starting point for cross-border e-invoicing.
