Cancel or withdraw an authorisation request

Cancel an authorisation request after acceptance or withdraw it before acceptance.

An authorisation request you have sent can be undone in two ways: withdraw if the client has not yet accepted the request, or cancel if the partnership is already active. The procedure differs per situation.

Withdraw: before acceptance

Has your client not yet accepted the authorisation request? You can withdraw the request. This removes the request before a partnership is created.

Step 1: Go to Authorisations

Log in to platform.econnect.eu and go to Authorisations.

Step 2: Find the request

Find the outstanding authorisation request (status: "Pending").

Step 3: Withdraw the request

Click Withdraw.

The request is removed and the client can no longer accept it. The activation link in the previously sent email no longer works. You can send a new authorisation request to the same client at any time.

Cancel: after acceptance

Has the client already accepted the request and is the partnership active? You can cancel the authorisation. Cancelling means the partnership is ended and the connection between the two environments is severed.

Step 1: Go to Partners

Log in to platform.econnect.eu and go to Partners. Select the partnership you want to end.

Step 2: Cancel the partnership

Click Cancel or Remove connection.

After cancelling, the other party immediately loses access to your organisations. The connection keys that were previously retrieved no longer work.

Important: cancelling a partnership takes effect immediately. The software connection that was set up via the connection keys stops working. Make sure you coordinate this with your client or accountant before ending the partnership.

Removing the connection and software integration

If the client has a software connection that works via the partnership's connection keys (for example with Exact Online, Yuki or another package), the connection in the software must also be removed or reconfigured after cancelling.

The steps depend on the software package:

  • With most packages you manually remove the API keys or connection profile.
  • With Exact Online the digital mailbox connection becomes invalid. A new connection requires a new authorisation request and new connection keys.
What is and is not affected

After cancelling or withdrawing an authorisation, it is good to know what changes:

ComponentWithdraw (before acceptance)Cancel (after acceptance)Authorisation requestRemovedn/aPartnershipNever createdEndedAccess to organisationsNever grantedImmediately revokedConnection keysNever generatedInvalidatedExisting documentsNo effectRemain in own archive

Existing documents (invoices, orders) that have already been processed remain available in both parties' archives. No data is lost by ending the partnership.

Reconnecting

Want to reconnect with the same client after cancelling or withdrawing? Simply send a new authorisation request. The process is identical to the first time.
