Sweden: high adoption via Svefaktura and Peppol

E-invoicing in Sweden: Svefaktura, Peppol adoption, DIGG as Peppol Authority and what you need to know.

Sweden has a long tradition in structured e-invoicing. The country has mandated e-invoicing for government bodies and enjoys high adoption in the private sector, partly driven by government incentives and major software vendors.

Svefaktura and Peppol BIS 3.0

Svefaktura is the Swedish CIUS (Core Invoice Usage Specification) of the European standard EN 16931. The format is used alongside Peppol BIS 3.0. Both formats are based on the same European standard, which simplifies interoperability.

For suppliers already invoicing via Peppol BIS 3.0, separate Svefaktura support is usually not required: the eConnect PSB routes invoices in the correct format to Swedish recipients.

What does this mean for you?

Invoicing Swedish businesses or government bodies works seamlessly via Peppol in most cases. The eConnect PSB routes invoices to Swedish recipients via the Peppol network and automatically adapts the format.
