Top up transaction credit

How to top up your eConnect credit via iDEAL | Wero, Bancontact or automatic top-up.

eConnect works with prepaid transaction credit. Each processed invoice that was not manually created and sent on the platform is deducted from your balance. Insufficient balance? The platform blocks all API connections (SOAP and REST) and only administrators can still log in. Manual invoicing, Peppol reception and email processing continue to work. It is therefore important to top up your credit in time.

Note: Only an environment administrator with access to a payment environment can manually top up credit.

Manual top-up via iDEAL | Wero

The fastest way to top up your credit is via iDEAL | Wero. The credit is available immediately after payment.

Step 1: Go to Pay and top up

Click My environment in the side menu and open the Pay and top up tab.

Step 2: Choose the amount

Select the desired top-up amount. With higher amounts you benefit from bundle discounts.

Step 3: Pay via iDEAL | Wero

Click Top up and complete the iDEAL | Wero payment. There is no minimum amount.

Don't have access to iDEAL | Wero or Bancontact? Contact Customer Support to request an authorisation form.

Top up via Bancontact (Belgium)

Belgian customers can top up their credit via Bancontact. This works the same as iDEAL | Wero: choose the amount, pay and your credit is available immediately. Bancontact can also be used for setting up automatic direct debit.

Automatic top-up

Want to prevent your balance from running out unexpectedly? Set up automatic top-up via My environment > Edit > Automatic top-up. The platform calculates your average daily usage over the past 100 days and tops up automatically when the credit is insufficient for the coming 20 days.

When setting up automatic top-up, a small mandate of EUR 0.01 is collected via iDEAL | Wero or Bancontact to verify the payment details. After verification everything runs automatically: you receive an invoice after each collection.

If an automatic direct debit fails, you as account administrator receive an email notification. You can then top up your credit manually via iDEAL or Wero. The status of all direct debit mandates and executed collections is visible in the platform.

Pay on account (Professional and higher)

From the Professional subscription you can also top up by invoice ("pay on account"). The minimum amount for pay on account is EUR 100. The credit is added immediately; the invoice follows afterwards.

With the Basic subscription, pay on account is not available. You can only top up via iDEAL | Wero, Bancontact or automatic direct debit.

Prevent a negative balance

A negative balance blocks all API connections (SOAP and REST) and restricts login to administrators only. Manual invoicing, Peppol reception and email processing via the Email Receiver continue to work. The cost of a received invoice is EUR 0,34, so make sure to top up at least that amount extra. Otherwise the topped-up amount is immediately consumed by the incoming invoice for this top-up and the blocking cycle starts again.

Note: refunds of prepaid credit are not possible (in accordance with the Terms and Conditions).

Frequently asked questions
Can I top up credit as a Belgian customer too?

Yes, Belgian customers can top up their credit via Bancontact. This works the same as iDEAL | Wero: choose the amount, pay and your credit is available immediately. Bancontact can also be used for automatic direct debit.

How much bonus do I get with a larger top-up?

With higher top-ups you receive bonus credit: 5% on € 100, 7,5% on € 400, 15% on € 1.000 and 25% on € 6.000. The bonus is added directly to your credit and lowers the effective cost per transaction.

What should I do if my automatic direct debit fails?

You receive an email notification as account administrator. You can then top up your credit manually via iDEAL | Wero or Bancontact. The status of all direct debit mandates and executed collections is visible in the platform via My environment.

Is refund of prepaid credit possible?

No, remaining prepaid credit cannot be refunded. This is set out in eConnect's General Terms and Conditions.

My environment is blocked due to a negative balance. What should I do?

If you receive the notification that your environment has been temporarily blocked due to a negative balance, the environment administrator must top up the credit via My environment > Pay and top up. You can pay via iDEAL | Wero or Bancontact. Once your balance is positive again, the block is automatically lifted. The daily reminder emails will also stop. Not every user has administrator rights.
