Who is Solmate

After more than 20 years, Solmate has grown into the partner for organisations optimising their financial processes within Unit4 Financials (formerly Coda) and Unit4 ERP. Their approach ranges from transactional configuration to reporting and strategic steering, with organisations' financial function as the central focus.

This means Solmate serves a specific target group: organisations already working with Unit4 or considering a switch, who want to strengthen their existing setup rather than replace it.

How Solmate and eConnect work together

In this partnership the division of roles is explicit. Solmate provides implementation at organisations working with Unit4 Financials; eConnect provides the technology for e-invoicing. eConnect's API connection opens up sending, receiving and processing e-invoices for Unit4 customers.

An important component of the joint proposition is hybrid cloud processing. Hybrid in this context means the solution supports both structured e-invoices and documents arriving via Scan & Recognise. This allows Unit4 customers to go live with e-invoicing while their document flow is not yet fully uniform.

In the chain, an invoice arrives electronically in Unit4 Financials, with basic data such as creditor information, amount and invoice number immediately available. Verification of legitimacy and duplicate detection takes place early in the process, so noise does not flow through to accounts payable. From there follows coding, possibly automatically via the commitment module, authorisation by budget holders and payment.

Practical example: two Unit4 implementations

The partnership has been implemented in practice at two large Unit4 Financials customers that went live with the hybrid cloud e-invoicing solution—including Scan & Recognise—in a short, intensive period. Both projects took place during a phase when project teams and user training were fully virtual.

According to the teams involved, this required extra flexibility and creativity from all parties. The combination of implementation expertise on the Solmate side and e-invoicing technology on the eConnect side matched the operational needs of the clients in both projects.
